About meI am a professional author, editor, transcriber, astrologer, and spiritual seeker (with a special interest in Eastern Philosophy) who loves music, horror movies, reading, metaphysics and real magick.
Zodiac sign: Sagittarius (The Archer)
Chinese Zodiac sign: Dragon.
Professionally, my writing has been featured in hundreds of publications (in print and online) since I became a full-time freelancer in May 1997. I am co-author of "The Complete Writer" (August 2005; Red Engine Press) and author of Sun Signs for Writers (August 23, 2006; Writer's Digest Books), "Mending Fences" (September 6, 2006; Whiskey Creek Press) and "Hidden Fire" (June 15, 2009; Whiskey Creek Press).
I am due to graduate soon from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Bachelors degree in Communication and a Minor in Philosophy (emphasis on Eastern Religions -- particularly Taoism). I plan to attend grad school afterwards and receive a Masters in Communication so I can teach writing/communication at the university level.
Although I'm 42, most people think I'm still in my 30s -- mainly because I think young, not old. I'm the mother of two amazing and brilliant teenagers and am owned by four cats (Isis, Osiris, Lucy and KiKi). My fiance and I plan to adopt a Spectacled Flying Bat (Flying Fox) bat this year and intend to do so each year from here on.
Heritage-wise, I'm a mixture of Scottish, Welsh, English, Spanish, German and Native American.
In March 2006 I was engaged to my amazing, sexy fiance, Paul. We are set to marry Beltane 2008 and then honeymoon in Europe (we plan to hit all the haunted castles and cemeteries). My fiance and I are co-founders of the International Order of Horror Professionals.
In summary, I am the proud mother of two teenagers, a soon-to-be wife for the second time, a horror lover, a music lover (gothic, industrial, metal, alternative, classical), an avid reader (my fiance and I have more books than we can count!), a tattoo enthusiast (I have four -- thus far!) I also love lemurs, bats and meercats!
Things you probably don't care about, but in case you you're curious:
* Status: Engaged to a wonderful guy since November 5, 2005. We are planning to have our commitment ceremony Beltane 2007 and handfast a year and a day later on May 3, 2008.
About my libraryI like all sorts of books, but I mostly read non-fiction. When I read fiction, I prefer horror, erotica and romance. My reading tastes are eclectic and I'm always open to suggestions for new authors!

by William Henry Channing
"To live content with small means;
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable,
and wealthy, not rich;
to study hard, think quietly,
talk gently, act frankly;
to listen to stars and birds,
to babes and sages, with open heart;
to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely,
await occasions, hurry never.
In a word, to let the spiritual,
unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through the common.
This is to be my symphony."
