About me I'm an undergrad studying American Studies and Linguistics, currently unhappily employed in retail in order to support my book and yarn habits. I like baking, running, pulp in my orange juice, carnivorous plants, beer, and NCAA basketball.

P.S. And it's funny-- I just noticed-- you used to work at Border's. I used to work at Barnes & Noble's, this past winter, in the YA section! It's ridiculous how many copies we had of Meyer's books... we had nearly a dozen floorstacks, no lie.
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that your review of Twilight was AWESOME.

I have been debating with myself whether or not to read this series. Everyone was giving it 5 stars for its "readability" but I loved your analysis of the plot itself and your critique of the characters.... We seem to have a similar thinking process, and I really think that if I were to read this series, I would come out of it feeling the same way you felt. Now I know not to waste my time and money on these books. Please, please continue to keep writing such brutally honest (and thus very helpful) reviews!!!

I just read your review of Twilight, and I was happy to learn that I wasn't the only one who felt like Edward was frighteningly close to an abusive boyfriend. When I brought it up in one of the discussion threads, I was swamped by irate fangirls. At any rate, I'm glad it wasn't just my imagination and that other people see it (and are disturbed by it) too.

I'm thinking "Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum."
You know what? "Frere Jacques" for your birthday next year.
