Hello Margit! Hope you are well - is Spring sprung? Someone turned the heater down around here only in the last few days - but as it is nearly winter it is to be expected. I have two days off at the end of this week to go to a BOOK FAIR - I'm so excited! Any esoteric volume you are looking for that I can see if I can find? Or any others for that matter...
How's things?

I know what you mean: I had to spell-check crocheting twice; I kept wanting it to be crotchet-y! LOL! Oh, I'm sorry about about the arthritis - :( Bummer! How long have you suffered with that? I know it can appear quite early in life, and is very painful.
I just watched the 'day of mourning' ceremony we had for the bushfire tragedy. It is truly devastating. The number of animals, and the amount of land destroyed, also defies belief - so much so that that are concerned that some species may be wiped out. It was very lovely, and quite important I feel. These fires happen in lots of other countries too, but this one has been our worst national disaster ever, and has annihilated so many small communities, in such beautiful country. There is going to be a big formal inquiry and I hope they decide to fire the fuel in the bush more, like the indigenous people did to preserve their land, and before environmentalists, in their misguided beliefs, stopped it happening. Otherwise I am sure we will go through this again - it is getting hotter and drier every year in this place! Just my small opinion...
I'm off for a walk - to clear my head, and to get a coffee and finish the last 50 pages of my latest. And to enjoy the last of my weekend. They go way too fast.
Take care,
~Lyn

I just realised I hadn't replied to your last message; and then I noticed the Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting... does that mean you started your Azalea one? Is Lace Knitting using thin cotton and knitting, with needles as with wool? I keep thinking of it as crocheting (I like to do both), but I am a bit confused I think. Then again that is a normal state of my mind... :) I can't tell by the cover - but the work looks gorgeous. I am inspired to knit myself a jumper this year - especially after chatting with you.
I see you also got the Brent Weeks book - I have managed to get his books too. they look good don't they? Another one to share. What are you reading now?
I hope you are well - the weather is mad here as usual but it is more like the end of summer, after being so cold straight after those hideous heat waves. My favourite season, Autumn, is coming, and I am wishing it will be favourable.
Just wanted to say hi!
Hi!

Yes, I am a knitter, though not so much these last years. I enjoy it very much, and find it soothing; though I don't much like sewing the thing together when I've finished. You think I would be happy as it is finished - go figure! I need some new pattern books. I found this great new store in the city last time I was in there, so I am returning in autumn to see if I can find a book and knit myself a nice jumper this year. Seems weird talking about it with my present weather. I usually knit while/if when I watch TV, otherwise I am like you - reading instead.
I see you are having a Jo Walton moment, and a good one at that... wotcha reading now?

Just popped by to check out your latest.. loved some of your reviews that I have gotten to, so far.
I am sweltering in 30 degree Celsius heat (or more) here and I still want your 'sock' book!!! Though the Mammoth Book of Sorcerer's Tales may be a better option! LOL. It has been too, too hot and horrible - and I needed to vent, especially when I saw your latest addition - heh.
I'm sending you some of our too hot and humid air with this message - so your feet stay warmer! :)
Hope you are well,
x Lyn

Back in the 70s, my ex turned me on to Sherlock Holmes, and, after I finished that series, I discovered Christie and devoured all her mysteries. Then Tey, Ngaoi Marsh, Allingham, and so on. As far as Tey goes, I'm just sorry she didn't write more mysteries.
Have you read Edmund Crispin? He wrote some classic British mysteries. One of my favorites is "The Moving Toyshop."
