About me A 19-year-old sophomore at SUNY Geneseo, I study English Literature and revel in the fact that homework can be curling up with my contraband dorm-kitten (Rock and Roll Cat in name, psychopath in nature) and allotting myself a hundred pages. Prior to this, I spent a year at St. John's University in a program to gain a Doctorate of Pharmacy, but quickly grew disenchanted with the prospect of a steady income and glorified cashier job. Now I roam the earth of texts, eyes following the arc of a V-2 across the sky, hands packing tobacco into the pipe-end of my tomahawk as the Pequod soothingly rocks, bare feet out of the passenger window as Humbert hunkers just a motel ahead...and I wonder how it can be that every step on my endless literary journey feels just like home. Where it ends is yet to be seen: a master's of library science sounds heavenly, a career of wordsmithing would be exquisite torture, a bookstore to my name like the bookplate on my ribs promises that freedom I crave. What I want to do, in short, is to stay connected to the literature - I can't define why any better than I can denounce language for the pain it has brought me, but its one of those rare feelings that needs no justification. For the moment, I'm leaving justification to the pharmacists; I'm content to merely cherish my time to read.

About my library My library is partially the result of methodical book-hunting and primarily the product of my diagnosed bookstore psychosis. As a college student, I lack the funds to build the corpus I desire or to snare the volumes I salivate over, but I unwaveringly accept debt in exchange for those consolations which used-book stores thrust at me with hunger in their eyes and my name rolling off their tongues. I have a dream of a writing room: a bay window before a desk overburdened by drawers, a vast train-town carpet abutted by bookshelves so elegant that the pervasive smells of cigarette smoke and intelligent languor become alluring. Teak encompassing first editions and dustjackets, Pynchon and Nabokov and Woolf and Hesse, floor to ceiling, while my love Mnemosyne keeps vigil and smiles over all.
