About meI have always been an avid reader. During the past ten years, I have seemed to focus mostly on historical nonfiction (particularly English royal history and lately, modern Israeli and Jewish history), and gay fiction. My gay fiction kick led to my becoming a book reviewer at LGNY, Gay City News, and the Lambda Book Report.

After 20 years in publishing, I finally got my MLS degree from Queens College. I was working as a librarian at a genealogical society--before the Great Recession hit. Also, I volunteer at the Pat Parker/Vito Russo Center Library at the LGBT Community Services Center in the Village.

In addition to loving and reviewing books, I am an avid filmgoer. I also reviewed films for LGNY and Gay City News, as well as the Villager and the Downtown Express. I also enjoy photography, both with real traditional cameras and with my Nokia cell phone spy camera.

About my libraryThe books listed here are only books that I have read (as opposed to the many, many more that I own). I don't necessarily even have all these books in my possession anymore. Many of the books here are those I borrowed from NYPL or other libraries over the years.

My house is subsumed by clutter and books, so when I finish a book, I loan it out (permanently) or donate it to the Center Library or Housing Works.

Seth - Love your library. Contrariwise to you, I am pretty much just listing books I own, many of which I haven't read (yet). Oh, I guess I said that already (see below).
I am trying to decide if I should list books I read, or those that I own, two vastly different lists. I originally just wanted to list books I own, as I already keep a written diary of those that I read, and I want a record of those I own, but I have little to say about those books as I rarely get around to actually reading them!
