I appreciate your response to my review of World Without End. I also enjoy reading historical fiction, a lot of which covers early-mid 20th century Britain. Edward Rutherfurd and Alison Weir (non-fiction) are two authors that are prolific in this regard. I agree with your comments regarding major differences between 14th and 12th century medieval England, however, as you point out, most of these differences are macro in nature, whereas these novels focus very closely on the individuals involved. As I pointed out in my review, there were a couple of instances in World Without End (primarily involving the Black Death and continental adventures) that I felt added significantly to World Without End, but by and large, it was more of the same vis-a-vis Pillars of the Earth.
