About meAn erstwhile librarian who was seduced by the bright lights of the "other side" of the information game and now works in IT. (And sometimes wishes he didn't). I read French and German as will become increasingly apparent from my catalogue, and am married to an artist (which might also become apparent from the same catalogue). I have three children (well, young adults to be precise) which won't be apparent from any amount of perusing of that catalogue.

About my libraryA doughnut, polo, hole-in-the-middle, call it what you will. Having moved house too frequently (and to a smaller property) I've been very generous to local secondhand book dealers and charity shops. I kept many earlier acquisitions out of sentiment and parted with later stuff, but now I'm buying again so the leading edge of my collection is once more a-growing.

I don't possess many esoteric or rare books, but it's going to be interesting to see what I share with whom and what I share with nobody. There's already been a few surprises, finding myself as the only person in possession of books I thought would be shared with (at least) several others; and conversely sharing things which I thought might be more obscure. It's all good fun.

What you see here will only ever be books my wife and I own. Much of my reading matter is still borrowed from (and returned to!) friends, family, libraries, colleagues. You'll be left to speculate what that other reading might be.
