About my libraryMy catalogue includes a number of books I've owned at some stage and discarded -- sometimes because I didn't value them, but often because I was travelling and needed to drop weight, or simply to make room on the shelves. It also includes books I've borrowed from libraries or from friends, and books I've read as part of my paid work, which I've never owned. I've been a prolific reader since I learned how to do it, and there were a number of years in my teens and early twenties when I hardly owned anything at all -- many of the books I read in those years were profoundly significant to me, but it was never a matter of owning the physical book. I've indicated when a book is in one of those categories using the tags "borrowed" and "discarded".
