ChironBooks preteen fantasy, The Taker and the Keeper by Wim Coleman and Pat Perrin, features a Mexican-American character without anything special being made of it. See Charlotte's Library

We've recently learned that The Taker and the Keeper has been selected for a Gwinnett County Schools (big Atlanta suburb) summer reading list. Rising 8th Graders are asked to read a least one book from the list of fourteen. All books on the Gwinnett list except The Taker and the Keeper are from major houses. (I'll email you a copy of the list if you'd like.)

We hope you'll add The Taker and the Keeper to your list. Of course, I'll be glad to have a copy sent to you if you wish.
