About me I got a stats degree in college and have been a computer geek all my life. I'm an awful dilettante: I can talk about lots and lots of things, and I read lots and lots of things, but I'm an expert in maybe one or two areas.
About my library Dilettantism explains my reading. I read lots of books about the philosophy of science, lots of novels (Bellow and Roth are my two favorites, I think, though Patchett's "Bel Canto" left me reeling), books about religion (I'm trying to answer the question of how scientific folks can be religious), books about evolutionary biology, books about politics, lots of history (The Age Of Federalism is one of my favorites), historical bios (everyone should go read Robert Caro's bio of Lyndon Johnson -- all three volumes are masterpieces, and I can't wait for the fourth), and on and on. Too much of a dilettante for my own good. Alas.
