About meI'm an eclectic mix (but aren't we all?)...reader, singer, storyteller and puppeteer, gardener and cook, along with other things I can't think of at the moment.

I read for at least an hour a day; I walk to work and read as I am walking....a useful skill! Haven't hit any telephone poles yet. I now volunteer at the Victoria Times Colonist used booksale in support of literacy.

My profile picture is a painting by my father, done in June of 1977. I am reading Mary Stewart's "Touch Not the Cat"...I found the original photograph recently.

About my libraryMy library is constantly being added to and also purged. I've kept roughly 2000 books for most of my life, although I've done another recent cleanout and now have less than that. I am currently updating my list to show my actual bookcovers.

I love mysteries, fantasies, historical fiction, but my favourites are books I loved as a child.

Hi Kat,

I saw that you have The Blythes are Quoted. Have you read it yet? I read the publicity for it, and they made it sound so awful that I am afraid to try it out. I like everything I've read by L. M. Montgomery, except her journals - they were too depressing. The only things I haven't read are some of the short story collections compiled in the last 20 years, and the poetry, which I didn't even know existed until I saw it in your library.

I am afraid that if I read The Blythes are Quoted, it might have a negative effect on my enjoyment of the original Anne books. Please let me know what you think of it, when you get a chance.

Thanks,
Sylvia

P.S. I just noticed that you have Chronicles of Pern under Currently Reading. I like that one, because it makes a lot of connections between the original settlement and the later social structure of Pern. Dragonsdawn is one of my favourites in the series.
We certainly do seem to have similar tastes. Looking through your library, I saw several other books that we share that I haven't gotten around to entering yet. I still have to enter my cookbooks and gardening books (I'm not much of a cook or gardener, but I like reading about them), and my picture books and readers.

I am quite attached to my old favourites that I have read and re-read dozens of times, so most of my books tend to be not-so-recent.

I also love folk music - especially Canadian. Can't play anything, but I enjoy listening.
I like your profile picture. Touch Not the Cat is a very good book to be immortalized with!
I hear you on that, too! To me the images of the books is what makes LT so fun and colorful. I'm all about the images. Which reminds me, I need to get those last listed books imaged soon ...
Hey, sleepinkat, I have around 20 of the books I want to give away. I was hoping that people in the group would be willing to change their author so that our books could be shared, but no one seems interested. :( I'm mulling that over before I finally offer the books to everyone.

They sure are nice books. Thanks for your message! :)
