Hi, just found your message about the XINU books by Comer and the Vol 2 editions problem. I think you're right, the system is not seeing that the one I have should be combined with the other Volume 2 editions. Don't know why that would be though.
That booklet was printed when that law was passed. It's just a small booklet (maybe 10*5cm and quite thin). This law was passed when Finland was still part of the Russian Empire.
I think you are right. The majority of the people taking part in the discussion on the group have already pretty much fixed their sights on one way of doing it and I know from personal experience how hard (nearly impossible) it is to change that. Setting up a group is a nice idea if I come up with a starting point. I've had some ideas brewing at the back of my mind for a few days but we'll see if something comes from it.
Hi Sona..:-)

Thank you for the welcome note and the sage advice and clarifications I do appreciate it! I think it is positive that we are having this conversation as it may be as helpful to others as it is to me. First and foremost the original idea of a group using the title of my book has been shelved. Fox rightly pointed out that this was over the top. Because the general topic is the branches and religion of Orisha worship (rather than my book)we have changed the name of the group to Orisha worship & IFA. We have also replaced the photo with a more general one as well as the group's description.

Unfortunately there are no groups currently specific to the world's seventh largest religion of Orisha worship & IFA, nor are there any groups on Santeria or the various branches of the Orisha worship tree. Also absent is any group on the Yoruba people or culture. Therefore, the group can include more rather than less by this significant change.

I think your suggestions on the invitations are sound, thanks again for taking the time to contribute to this discussion.
Hello and welcome to 40 Something Library Thingers!

Thanks for your reply. As to the pop music industry, I couldn't agree more.
Hope you get that concert in the Cathedral one day. It would be a magnificent setting.
Best regards for now,
Jane
Welcome to the Gregorian Chant group. We now have 2 members in the States, 1 in UK, 1 in Rome and of course your good self in Sweden. The member in Rome is a priest and I think he's American.

Can you tell me what interests you about this group so that I can post items of specific interest on the group page. Is Gregorian Chant performed in public at all in Sweden? Are there CDs available? And what is the Monastic situation in your country? Sorry about all these questions.

I have only ever known one other Swede. He lived in London and was Press Secretary to Archbishop Bruno Heim the Apostolic Delegate. Sadly Denis died of Leukaemia some years ago now.

St Brigite of Sweden is a favourite of mine and I have a rose in by garden named for her and dedicated to her.

Anyway, all the best for now and welcome again,
Pax tecum,
Jane
Welcome to the Capital Markets Group. Tell me a little about yourself and what interests you in the Capital Markets Group.
I don't think there's anything we can do short of contacting the people in question and asking them to clarify which books are in their copy. I don't know why LT wants to combine the work with the individual works. That might be a question for the Combiners board.
Yes, if the other book is a six-book omnibus I shouldn't have combined it. Have you uncombined it?
I haven't brought up that point, but there's another I have mentioned: if you manually enter a book in Cyrillic, sometimes the system picks up on parts of it (like if there's a number) and matches it with other, totally different books that have that number--usually it's manga of some variety. You then have to manually disassociate your book from the other ones.

We contemplated what to do about books in other alphabets, and ultimately decided to stick with the original in hopes that LT will eventually catch up. I agree that ID numbers for authors would be fantastic, particularly given the multitude of transliteration systems out there. I'm not keeping my hopes up for anything too soon, though. Looks like there are tons of things added to the site improvements list every day, and the developers are pretty busy these days with LT for Libraries. I figure it's eventually bound to happen.
