About meI would rather be offended than bored.
About my libraryI am only listing the books I wish to form part of my reading profile. I have decided not to include books that I do not respect. (Which is different from merely not liking them - I find you can respect a book you don't like for its popularity or its inspirational value...so some books I did not like but did respect are here. AND many books I thoroughly enjoyed - thousands of mysteries for example - I won't bother with because they are chaff, and sheer volume is not my goal.)
I have also realized that since I have developed the habit of giving away as many books as possible after I have read them (in order to avoid drowning), I have done some catch-up with books I no longer own, and my list will become more weighted towards the books I have still to read, as they keep piling up on my shelves while the already-read leave.
Finally, I have included books passed to me by friends, that circulate around along with my already-read contributions.

Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

And remember, every time you tell someone about Shelf Monkey, an angel (i.e. me) get its wings (i.e. maybe $2.00 before taxes).
