About meI'm 21 years old and a graduate student at Kent State University. I'm studying Library and Information Science, and I am interested in Rare Books and Preservation. My dream is to one day live on the coast, but I'm really starting to like the middle of nowhere - it's easier to think out here. I am a huge fan of sci-fi, romance, and fantasy, but I also hoard cookbooks. I read about a million books at a time, and though it takes me a little bit longer this way, I don't get bored with a single book and can usually see them all through to the end. I always feel like a little part of me has died if I can't finish a book for some reason. When I'm not reading I'm either cooking, sleeping, or painting. I love talking with new people, so feel free to friend me and start up a conversation!
About my libraryI am very behind on updating my library. I haven't done any serious updating since July '08, and once finals are over I'll probably take on the project of re-vamping my tags and classification scheme.

I love ancient history with a passion. I really admire your art theory collection, though. I'm no expert, but I really love the baroque? style.

I was an Art History major at Wright State. Great minds.....
Are you taking the distance learning program at Kent? That's what I'm going through. I'm about halfway finished now. I'm really enjoying the program, although, as with any school, there are those professors who think you have NOTHING to do but homework for them! Still--I think you'll enjoy it. I only got to go to Kent twice, for weekend workshops. It's a beautiful and diverse campus, and their library is pretty incredible, too. Good luck--and check in with me when you're buying texts--a lot of them I've gotten from the library (order them through the MORE system or OhioLink when you can, through your library)--but the ones I've had to buy I still have, and will be willing to sell them to you at a good price. Also, subscribe to the listserv as soon as possible, and check it daily. Lots of good information through that--and they post new classes and workshops as well as textbook lists. Feel free to keep in touch with me with questions, etc.
Seeya!

I know you haven't even had a chance to read this yet, but I just wanted to mention that if you ever wanted to pay it forward at some point, I would be very interested. I do, however, live in Canada (sigh!) but I just thought I would let you know.
Either way, I hope you enjoy the book - it sounds fascinating.
Have a great day.
