About meJust your normal guy who enjoys books, film, music, games, the works. However, I generally don't like books based on films, films that have been based on books, games based on books or films, films based on games, books based on games, or Holland. Damn you Holland!

About my libraryAs much as I like to think of myself as an eclectic, well-rounded individual who enjoys all the finer things classic literature has to offer, I do dance and squeal like a little school-girl when it comes to pulp SF and crime from the 40's to the 60's.

There's a little bit of everything (as it should be) in my library. With VERY FEW exceptions, nothing read can stay in the house (wife's orders), so 99% of the books in my house are books I haven't read. Makes thinking of the house as an actual library that much easier.

The website below (Geek Monkey) contains (among many other things) reviews for every book I've read this year, as well as additional reviews and articles from both myself and friends. From time to time I'll be posting some of those reviews up to Librarything.com.

Hi, Nice avatar
Thanks for being my friend
Noticed you liked The Virgin Suicides, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

actually my first thought was, if we marry, then divorce, could I get half his books? Library envy seemed less...psychotic. lol.
Sharing LT does seem obvious now.
Dude, library envy.
Awesome, what book did you get? I did not get one but there is always next month.
Hi there, I did not snag an early reviewers book for October!
Howdy, friend.

Enjoyed your blog, by the way. Your review of the NOTLD remake was about spot on. Nice to see we share a number of favorite movies and music (Zappa rules) as well as books.

Cheers.
Tanstaafl - I think your warning about bears fell on deaf ears. According to his reviews, Squeak Jones likes stories of bears.
You have great taste, amigo!
If you like Chandler you'll enjoy Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon; If you like PKD's Three Stigmata you will like it even more. Its good to see a book on Zappa (Electric Don Quixote is on my must read list), and, I just bought Jack Finney's Invasion of the Body Snatchers at a thrift shop and look forward to reading that in the next day or two. Happy Holidays.
No Rex Stout??? Run, don't walk...
Why is it that everyone who chooses the Groucho Marx photo for their profile has a collection I like? Noticed we share a pretty good stack of books and a few favorite authors. Have you read Kobo Abe's "Woman in the Dunes"? Sounds like something you might like, given your collection.

Happy cataloging.
This is very cool.
You know what is worse than Holland? Bears! They are godless killing machines!!!!
I love finishing a book and browsing through my library to find the next one! It feels so wonderful to know I still have unexplored books in my library that are all mine!
What a great photo!
