Series: Diana Gabaldon's Outlander; Stirling's Dies The Fire Emberverse, and just about everything else by him; have read everything written by Stephen King (except a few of the Bachman books), Barbara Kingsolver, Toni Morrison, John Irving, Louise Erdrich; also love Annie Proulx, Annie Dillard, early Alice Walker, Pat Conroy, Frank McCourt, Carl Hiassen and the good old guys like Steinbeck, Hemingway, Vonnegut, Faulkner, Salinger, Twain...(Can you tell I was an English Major?) My husband has cultivated a love of scifi in me, including lots of apocalyptic stuff and the "classics" like Bova and Gaiman.

Besides being an aspiring writer, volunteer, Mom (26-yr-old launched with MFA living in Pburgh, and 19-yr-old in culinary school for baking and pastry), wife of nearly 29 years, and Midwestern transplant to NJ, I am a voracious reader. Always looking for good suggestions. I especially love series, the bigger and fatter the better! Improving my fitness level, so trying to do the same with my reading - love that romance mind-candy, but it can be so unsatisfying. Trying to read more classics and focusing on some emerging writers and prize winners.
