About meAlmost ruined my eyesight as a kid reading under the covers with a weak flashlight...things haven't changed, still reading late into the night, head almost under the covers so my husband can sleep - thankfully today's booklights are much easier on the eyes!
I'm a devout library user as my budget cannot support my reading addiction. I'm also an avid gardener and tend to spend on my garden instead of my library...can't borrow plants!
I read an eclectic mix...historical fiction is my favorite genre. I also enjoy non-fiction...Christian, gardening, interior design, art, and health/fitness books.
My husband doesn't share my love of reading so we enjoy films together, and I've become a LibraryThing heretic by entering that list as well...please forgive! I have separated movies into a separate collection and put [film] after each title so as never to confuse them with actual books.
About my libraryMy physical library is quite small as I tend to borrow rather than buy. I'm still experimenting with collections vs tagging.
I use the comment section for the date I complete reading a book along with notes. Ratings are subjective (feelings are fickle remember!) not objective (based on quality of writing)...as I've entered books read long ago it's been interesting to realize how much I've changed through the years. Books I used to read no longer interest me as my worldview has become more grounded in Christianity.
As I love movies as well as books, I've decided that anything read from May 2009 on will be rated using the Blockbuster movie rating system. Not an exact science but at least I have consistency between lists.
