About meBorn and educated in england;dropped out of college to travel extensively throughout europe - mainly france, spain, italy, greece. Captivated whilst in the midi – went for a holiday and stayed for fifteen years [so far]. Somehow ended up with: a restaurant in a provencal town; a gite; a french husband; a swimming pool; It’s a long story. Maybe some other time?

About my libraryyou'll notice lots of travel books – I love them. I will catalogue it properly – keep that thought in my head. It’s a work in progress, for now.

Thanks for the recommendations. I already had Berendt's book, but had failed to load it for some reason. I am going to try Constantine's book on Paris and Wright's book on Languedoc. My wife and I have spent considerable time in Provence and love it. Several years ago we rented a house in a perched village above Apt and ate and drank our way through the countryside. I have driven through Languedoc but never spent much time there. It has the feel of an unspoiled Provence. Cheers, Henry
