About meWe are an academically-inclined couple, both working on our doctorates, both voracious readers of sci-fi, fantasy, literature, non-fiction, comic books, children's books, basically anything interesting that we can get our hands on.

About my libraryLots of science fiction and fantasy, a whole bunch of comic books (the single issues aren't even in here), an ever-growing amount of academic books, and a smattering of other interests and ephemera.

Thank you for choosing my SantaThing! I finally received my package today. I'd never heard of Tokyo Suckerpunch before, but it looks like it's right up my alley. I'm really looking forward to reading it!
So happy to hear you like the Santa picks. I've got to admit I was worried after seeing your enormous SciFi library, especially since I am relatively new to the genre. Enjoy!!
Thank you for taking the time to read my novel, "The Last Day." Hope you enjoyed it. Best wishes...
Noticed you liked Fight Club, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed bunch of kids and a bit dark :) I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hello, Josh & Karen - was just looking thru who'd read Fred Haefele's Rebuilding the Indian, which I just finished reading and reviewed here. Loved it. Hope you did too. I read a lot of memoirs and Fred's is just great. Writing my own too, and stuff like his inspires me. I did the academic life many years ago. Only lasted five years teaching college and ran screaming back into the army. Never regretted it; got me a great life/career with the US Dept of Defense. Retired now; reading and writing to my heart's content. I wish you two all the best in your academic aspirations. - Tim
