About meI'm the author of 'Sons of Heaven,' a novel set during the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989. It's a fictional account of that incredible picture we've all seen of the man who stood in front of the tanks.

The new edition of 'Sons of Heaven' is available. Check it out at www.xlibris.com/SonsOfHeaven.html.

My second novel, 'Deep in the Mountains,' is a young adult novel about a 15 year old Chinese boy from NY who spends a summer in Shanghai and befriends the famous Chinese painter, Zhu Qizhan. Find out more about the book and about Master Zhu on my website (book cover, video clips, etc.)

I also have a new short story in BRONX NOIR, part of Akashic's noir series. Check out the cover in my pics, and find info on the book at http://www.akashicbooks.com/bronxnoir.ht....

What I hope will be my third novel is going out on submission this summer: it is another historical fiction set during the Japanese occupation of China during the 1930's. It is based on atrocities such as the Rape of Nanking, Comfort Women, and Unit 731. A brief excerpt can be read at the NEA website: http://www.arts.gov/features/writers/Che...

I was born in Taiwan, but was raised on Long Island; I've lived in NYC since 1997. Almost all the work I've done to date is inspired by or based in Chinese history. You can find out more about me and my books at www.tcheng.net.

About my libraryThese are some of my favorite books that I love for a multitude of reasons. I'll say more once I have compiled the majority of the list...

Terrence,

I finally got a chance to read Deep in the Mountains (I broke my classics-only rule for 2008 fiction, but it was worth it). Again, beautiful work. You made a nice transition to the young adult voice in this one. I'll keep an eye out for your next book. Best of luck to you.

Terrence, it's nice to see you on here. I had no idea you have a new book out--I'll add it to the list. You're work is beautiful. Take care, Lisa.
