About me I've been purchasing and collecting books since the age of eight(I'm now 55). I'm a Systems Analyst/Programmer for the Southern District of Texas, which is a district within the US District Courts system with headquarters in Houston, Texas. I'm an eighth-generation Texan with ancestors who fought at the Battle of San Jacinto, were among the first companies of The Texas Rangers, and who published the first newspaper in Texas, The Daily Texean. I also collect specimen seashells from across the globe and have an active interest in Malacology (the study of molluscs). I spend a lot of my spare time in service ministries connected with my church's chapter of The Brotherhood of St. Andrew, a men's evangelical organization founded at St. James' Episcopal Church in Chicago in 1883. Other than reading, I enjoy listening to classical music and jazz, cooking, and gardening. My wife Nancy and I live in Friendswood, Texas. We have two sons, and five grandchildren.
About my library My library is comprised of titles in Christianity, Natural History, Malacology, Art, Art History, Literature, Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Automotive History.

Thanks for the tote bag info! I'm strapped for funds these days (post-tuition blues) so I may not be able to pull the trigger, as they say, and order 4 books to get it.
Where do you live? For some reason I was thinking you were further north than you would be to feel the effects of Ike. My friends working on the next Hallmark movie in Shreveport have been plagued by rainy weather--first from Gustav then Ike. I'll be there myself next week and hope the weather will be better.
I'm glad the tornado missed you--growing up in Tornado Alley (Independence, MO)--tornadoes were a constant presence, but strangely enough, I never actually saw one until I moved to S. California and saw one over the ocean at Long Beach.
