About meI'm a lively perpetual student, intellectually omnivorous, with a surreal and distinctly mischievous sense of humour. My main interests are linguistic in nature - languages, linguistics, history and development of languages, and the way languages interrelate. I am especially interested in Italian, and am currently translating the poetry in the Vita Nova (very slowly, as work and other commitments allow). I also sing tenor (yes, really!) and live with three cats.
About my libraryYou'll find pretty much everything here apart from horror and erotica.

Recommendation engines are becoming very good by their own right, and I am glad that I can point you to books that you think you'll like, even if I am just meat. My experience is that when machines know little about me their book recommendations are good, but for books that most of the time I already have. When they know more about me they become lazy, and just pick an additional title for an author I have read books from... Even so my wishlist on Amazon is growing every day http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/1Z1HXR... and I have little hope of being able and ever read all I'd want to.
