GroupsChildren's Fiction

About me I've been reading since I was about 2, and started reading on a 7th grade level when I was 5. I love to read all kinds of books, and can read in English and French. I love old hard cover books more than anything in the world, but I also enjoy modern fiction and yes, I'll admit, comics. I do a lot of reading in the car or on the bus, and pull out a book anytime I'm sitting still for longer than a few minutes, which gets me in plenty of trouble at school. I've always got a least two books in my purse, and I have the bad habit of reading books that fall slightly short of the title of "literature", by which I mean the modern sci-fi, fantasy, and romance novels you buy off the rack at Dollar Generals. I have a soft spot for Charlotte Bronte and Alan Moore(isn't that an interesting combination?), and I absolutely despise Dickens and Faulkner. I heart first editions and have several in my library. My most prized posession is a first edition paper-back of The Silmarillion. I have bled protecting it from rabid Tolkien fans.

About my library Most of my books are packed in huge cardboard boxes and barrels in my attic, and any time I want a book I have to climb up there and rummage through boxes to find it. I do keep a fairly large pile of books in my room, comprised of all my favorite and most often read books. I love children's books, and have a large collection of fairy-tales and fantasy stories in my library. I have a fairly large collection of comic books and trades as well. Many of my books are in less than great condition from too many readings, especially my ancient first editions and the books I found at flea markets and library sales.
