About me50 years old; female; married; 2 children, soon to be 1st time grandma. School librarian; pastor's spouse. Recently moved to central Texas. I read nearly any genre, except westerns and political thrillers: scifi, romance, children's/ya lit, fantasy, mysteries, you name it. Since moving and now teaching in a small rural school, I have lost my peers of fellow librarians/book fanatics from the large school district I used to work. I need this outlet!

About my librarydue to my recent move, my personal library is very small now. I take advantage of the public library.

Hi, theexiledlibrarian. I saw you were missing having people to discuss YA titles with. You might enjoy this LT group: http://www.librarything.com/groups/ready...

Happy Yesterday Birthday! (I've been gone all weekend, and Monday too!)
Good choice on coming to Michigan (I hope). I've been all over the Lakes in a sailboat. Each spot is nicer than the last. If you don't mind my asking, where did you go?
Hi theexiledlibrarian,
Could you send me a copy of your genre list? I am not a trained librarian...but I am serving in that position at a new school in Mississippi. I have SO MUCH to learn! Our books are all donated...we have around 5000. I would like to make some suggested reading lists so students could easily find a book that might interest them.

I'm new to this website...so I haven't really figured out how it works.

I see you are a pastor's wife? I am too...

I am 42 with three boys, ages 12, 9, & 6.

I will host the k-5 through 6th graders in the library for 40 minutes each class once a week. I am excited...I served somewhat in that position last year but didn't start the year out...someone else was really in charge I would just come in and read to them and supervise while they checked out books...but this year, I'm in charge so I want to start the year off right.

I would love to see your lists and hear of your library experiences. I have a B.S. in education...I don't even know what all it would take to become trained and certified as a "real" librarian. Right now to be accredited they needed a certified teacher in the library...so here I am!

My email address is beckykphillips@mac.com

Thanks so very much! Becky
I am also a MU grad living in central Texas (Austin).
You can always share books with me. I do not have close neighbors and few relatives that read books. I have not decided what to read next, but I just finished Whence Came A Prince, which is a Scottish highlands tale set in the 1790s. It is about a man who marries two sisters and they are both pregnant by him and love him but he can only stay married to one. I am big into forensic stories and historical fiction right now but I don't limit myself. Check out my library and profile. I am a good listener and love getting E-mail from my friends.
