About my libraryDespite my user name, most of the books in my library are not theological. Almost all deal with antiquity, several are reference works for ancient languages, and most focus upon my specialism - early Christian literature. I am continually trying to mould my library into one which contains primary texts, tools to facilitate their use and finally other evidence (both material and literary) from the ancient world.
My books are currently divided between two continents. Most here in Germany have been catalogued; however, though I've been paring down my library in America, perhaps a quarter of my books are still there and will have to be added as I have opportunity.
Erasmus sums up my philosophy nicely:
Nunc adeamus bibliothecam, non illam quidem multis instructam libris, sed exquisitis.
- Erasmus of Rotterdam, "Convivium religiosum"
