About meObviously someone who reads too much. It doesn't help that I'm a librarian. I really should stop. There are other things I should be doing. Maybe after one more book.....

About my libraryShowcases my book "passions" down through the years. Lots of classic literature. Lots of history. Lots of anthropology. A little science fiction. A smidge of New Age. Who knows what my next obsession will be....

I love your library! You have some great stuff!
Kathy
Theresa,

Of course I remember you! How are you? Where are you working now?

I am fulltime at Stark County District Library (where I was part-timing while we were in school.) Since Feb of this year I've been the Technical Services Librarian there (I do a lot of cataloging, but also other things involed with the ILS and the OPAC. I'll be starting Authority Control work soon.)

So good to hear from you! Do you know anything about anyone else who was in school with us? Funny how fast time goes!

Kathy
I've got The Master and Margarita on my bookshelf. Found it at a book sale a while back. It's on my list for next year. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
Thanks for your comments. It's nice to meet a kindred spirit. I really liked the lonely sheep herder bit. It sounds like shades of Silas Marner and Heidi all rolled into one.
That is a *wonderful* room in your profile picture. Is it yours? I'm jealous!
Thanks! That's great to hear.
Regarding Banana Yoshimoto: Sheesh, it's actually been so long since I've read any of Banana's work, I'm not sure what to recommend to you next. In general, I'd say to simply follow her work chronologically as much as you can, just like I recommend with any new author a person has recently become a fan of; it's the best way, I think, to see for yourself how that artist either grew or didn't over the years, and how the success of failure of the previous project influenced the next one. Sorry I can't be more specific!
Oh my! I've been away from my dear Library Thing, but in answer to your long ago comment... the fact that you have a monkey in your top 50 means you are very... evolved.

Best wishes,
Monkey
Thanks for the Dave Eggers info...I was at the Akron Public Library recently doing my usual browsing at their bookstore for used goodies and saw the flyer for it (I'll be there).

I am a tutor for Project LEARN, but due to my work schedule haven't really had an opportunity to do much yet...

I'm working on getting back into school (KSU) soon myself, although probably not until this Fall. You've got some pretty great books yourself - it's rare to find someone, er, literate in these parts, and especially so with such individualistic tastes! :-)

Cheers! - Jeremy
