Hey sorry for the delay in response. Charles De' Lint's anthologies really do look interesting, and I'm definitely adding them to my TBR list. Thank you for those suggestions. As for Horror recomendations, truth be told, I've been out of the horror genre for so long that I can't really recommend much (atleast right now). I can however, if you like a Darker, gritty, more realistic fantasy, reccommend the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin. In truth, it's one of the most compelling, engaging series I have ever read through..and there is a lot of horror/darker aspects to it which could please both horror and fantasy fans alike. Though for the most part it's a different type of horror..I found many chapters jaw droppingly frightening, atleast on a pyschological level! It's very earthy and real for a fantasy..and the characters are all so complex and multi-faceted. It's really, really gripping..I couldn't put any of the books down. Anyway, I'd definitely suggest that :)...as you probably can tell. Lol.

The Book of Atrix Wolfe by Patricia McKillip is another really great one, but again, far more fantasy than horror. It's truly a beautiful written piece though, and I'd suggest it to anyone who likes a good read. It has a really unique plot along with great characters, and the actual writing of it is just magical. I've written a review on it which you can read from my library if you want. Anyway, again, thanks for the suggestions :)..
You don't buy books online from Amazon or something like that? Amazon has some great deals on used books especially :) Yea, I really enjoy Neil Gaiman, although his reading can be a little slow for me for some reason. I just finished the second volume in The Sandman series, and I definitely enjoyed this one much better... maybe it was just that I knew who some of the characters were and the undetailed events in the first volume were explained a little. Like Unity, who had a child. When I read that, I was thinking... "What did this have to do with anything, really, other than prove just how bad it was that the Sandman was gone" ya know? But it's really working out. Concerning the artwork, I think that it's starting to work on me, I have no qualms with the more crude style of drawings with graphic novels but I think it works with this series. Besides, it would be weird to have manga style drawing with that.

Well I really enjoy the picture so you should tell him that I enjoyed it!

Lol yea, but I would love to read 100 books this year, and I certainly have enough TBR books to help me with that lol! Yea, you should find more time to read, I think that it helps relax a lot more. So, good luck lol!
Awesome, I'm really glad you liked it! I haven't read much of it, but I really have enjoyed the 50 or so pages I have read. Have you ever seen What the Bleep Do We Know? It is a great movie that follows philosophy and quantum physics. It's really interesting!

I was looking through your library and you have quite and fascinating collection! You also seem to be a huge Neil Gaiman fan. I'm reading my first experience in his work; The Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes... after years of wondering whether I want to read it lol. I am enjoying it although the artwork is different from the style I normally read.

By the way, I love your profile picture. Did you make it?
Ello there. I saw your review of Lud-In-The-Mist (one of my all-time favorite books), and was curious if you knew any others which were similar, or, as a reader, you would recommend to someone who absolutely loved that book? I'm always looking for fantasy works that truly capture magic and wonder as Lud-In-The-Mist did.

Anyway..if you have any suggestions, and have the time to reply, please do ^_^.

Thank you!
In reference to the thread posted below I was wondering if you had finished Sophie's World and whether or not you enjoyed it...?

Noticed you liked The Virgin Suicides, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks for your note. I did read the whole series (not quite sure how or why!) and I know Gaiman's version would have been twice as enchanting in half the pages. I can highly recommend The Graveyard Book which I've just finished. Cheers, Allan
Thanks for the great suggestions! I'm looking forward to reading them all!
Thanks for your thoughts on Murakami. I'm nearly finished with "After Dark" and loving it. What is your favoite, at this point? His short story collections and nonfiction, also look very inviting! Take care!

thioviolight: I hope you don't mind that I've added you to my interesting libraries list - it seems to me that we share a lot of reading interests, although they don't show up as much as they might in my catalog. For example, I'm a huge Neil Gaiman fan (I *love* the Sandman), but don't own them, so they're not in my list.
Hey thioviolight! I was checking out your books and your tags and I thought you might like my book.

I'm an author. I wrote a twisted paranormal action adventure called Edgar N Vective: Paranormal Detective.
