About meI'm a teacher so I kind of read for a living. But for fun, I delight in anything by Dickens. I'm reading through all of his major works and have two more to finish the task. I've loved David Copperfield, of course, and Barnaby Rudge as well as Domby and Son. Though I've enjoyed everything by Dickens, I was less than excited by Great Expectations.

About my libraryMy favorite authors are: Tozer, Havner, Dickens, Dostoevsky, Hugo, Meurer, Lewis.

It sounds like a cliche, but my favorite book is the Bible. It comforts, encourages, strengthens, corrects, teaches, moves me, and makes me better.

Dear Tim: Thank you for your good words. I've wanted to read "The Holy War" and now you've given me further encouragement to do so. I'm glad that your favorite book is the Bible ... and it doesn't sound like a cliche to me. Keep on teaching whatever is true ... honorable ... right ... pure ... lovely ... of good repute ... excellence ... praiseworthy. May God bless the work of your hands. YangGuy (aka Larry)
Thanks for the add, Have a good time!
Just read Chesterton on Pickwick Papers. He's brilliant! And I agree, Dickens was a great man. I wonder what Dickens meant naming Weller and Pickwick, Sam/Samuel? Maybe to juxtapose their understanding of the world more starkly?
I appreciate your getting back to me. Thank you.
Dear tholler,
I see you have a copy of the two vol set: New Testament Word Studies (Two volume set) by Johann Albrecht Bengel
I was wondering if you would perhaps be interested in selling this set and if so at what price.
Please contact me via this site or on stantilly@iafrica.com
Best regards.
Stan.
Yes, but two others (in addition to us) have Daze of Our Wives. But you haven't entered Dr. Beal's book on evolution in your catalog, yet... Right now I'm the only owner!
Dear tholler: You and I share some interest in Luther, Augustine and Bunyan, among other authors. It was through Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" that Abba Father drew me to Christ. Please feel free to stop by sometime and say "hi". There is a group called "John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress", if you are interested. God bless. yangguy
You're far beyond me now.
Wow, you've almost caught up to me. 281 books? Have you done anything else this week? :)
