About meI'm a graduate student in Information Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. I grew up in Scarborough, Maine. I've spent a year-and-a-half in the Middle East (Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan) and studied the history of the Middle East (primarily modern political history, but also some ancient and medieval history) at Yale as an undergraduate. My secondary interests include late modern European intellectual history, American intellectual and cultural history, vegetarian cooking, geology, fantasy fiction, gay fiction and history, philosophy and religious studies, ancient Greek drama and literature, and good writing of all varieties.

About my libraryIt's hard to make any general comments regarding my library. I suppose I have a pretty good collection of modern Middle Eastern political and social history.

Hi Tim,

I saw that you recently added Angels in America. I just saw part 1 last weekend in a great production here in Pittsburgh. From the operlap in our collections it looks like you are a Joan Didion fan. She's one of my favorite authors. I'd read anything by her.

All the best.

Dan
