Tolkien, Virginia Woolf (Shared favorites) About meI'm a graduate student working on two Master's degrees - one in Information Studies and the other in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. I grew up in Scarborough, Maine. I've spent a year-and-a-half in the Middle East (Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan) and studied the history of the Middle East (primarily modern political history, but also some ancient and medieval history) at Yale as an undergraduate. My secondary interests include late modern European intellectual history, American intellectual and cultural history, vegetarian cooking, geology, fantasy fiction, gay fiction and history, philosophy and religious studies, ancient Greek drama and literature, and good writing of all varieties. About my libraryIt's hard to make any general comments regarding my library. I suppose I have a pretty good collection of modern Middle Eastern political and social history.
