About meI'm a 46 year old IT geek, that grew up on books as prime entertainment. Books along with periodicals like Analog and the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction tended to fill a lot of my spare time as a child.

About my libraryFinally completed the initial scan/entry on all of my 'known' books, acquired over the last 40 years or so. The bulk of my tastes have run to SF & Fantasy, with sporadic surges into popular fiction and horror (borrowed from my mom's book stream when I was a kid).

This manual-entry process is probably going to drive a whole new round of acquisitions of books I borrowed and read as a kid, but never owned. :^)

Sadly I'm finding that the surviving bulk of my 30 to 50 year old paperbacks have not aged well: Storage in cardboard boxes for many moons has kept them dry and out of the sun, but the high-acid papers and crummy glues have many of them in fairly brittle shape. Esp. the 1950's & 60's vintage items that I'd bought at book exchanges years ago.

A lot of recent book buys have been oriented around research on the vacation cabin we're building off-the-grid, in the Superior National Forest, or on the subject of gardening and general self-sufficiency.

Noticed you liked Clockwork Orange, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a group of violent kids (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:
