Reading the Spenser detective books is a very high brow thing to do.
Gibson: Was within easy reach of my desk. ;) I've moved on to adding some books by people I know, which was an interesting experiment. I added Brad Vice's book, and via it found that my friend Michelle participates here, too.

The unowned collection thing is an interesting idea. I do occasionally read stuff that isn't mine, or that I give back to Half Price Books, though that category tends to be mostly stuff I might not want to put out there in public that I read. I must preserve the illusion that I'm exclusively highbrow, and never read things like Spenser detective books, or the entire Dresden series in 6 weeks, etc.

I plead business travel.
gibson fan i see. look forward to seeing more ... btw a lot of folks (including myself, starting lately) keep track of reading in LT, not just personal permanent libraries. they're rolling out a much-requested "collections" feature in the near future (weeks?) that will permit different subcollections, so you can segregate your read-but-unowned from your owned from your wishlist, etc. maybe your spousal unit will appreciate that.
