About meI've loved books for as long as I can remember, and have managed to accumulate quite a large number of them. In an effort to keep track of what I do and don't have, I thought a thing like this might be useful. A friend of mine recommended it. :)

I'm 25 years old; I double majored in college in History and in East Asian Studies (Japan). Then, I earned a masters degree in Library Science. I was born in New York City and have resided in Binghamton (NY) and Bloomington (IN), Tokyo (Japan), and now I live in New York City. I'm rather flying by the seat of my pants, at this point, with no real idea what I want to do with myself. However, currently I make my living by writing grants, and I've been delving slowly but surely in to the realm of writing novels - I've completed 1 original work and one novel-length fan fic, with more to come - I write every day. Still, damned if I know what the end will be.

About my libraryI love fantasy, history, science fiction, science, and manga type books. I've been gathering up my hoard for about 20 years now. With well over 1500 volumes of Manga in four languages, I consider myself something of a collector in this area. :)

Noticed you liked Clockwork Orange, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a group of violent kids (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

*waves* Nice to see another Slayers fan on here! I don't feel so lonely owning the Slayers manga and novels in Japanese on Library Thing any longer! You also got a master's degree in what I eventually want to get too!
You have a really awesome library :)
Lots of read manga not on your list, eh? Have you gone through any of Azuma Kiyohiko's YOTSUBA&! series? I've only read the first 3 volumes, but I find it utterly delightful so far and recommend it highly.
Hello there! :) Sorry for the super late reply! Between the holidays and massive shifts in my work schedule I just haven't had as much time for LibraryThing. *sobs* Anyway, it's always TOTALLY awesome to discover another lover of Harry Potter Doujinshi! From my collection you can tell that I'm a huge fan of Sirius X Remus, but I also adore Ron x Hermione and my collection of gag HP doujinshi are my all-time favorites! Probably because they're the easiest to understand without knowing the language. LOL! I add more occasionally; it just depends on what my budget is like for the month. ;-)
I feel compelled to comment that your collection is both daunting and impressive, hence my Interesting Libraries list add. I've gone through your list of manga and it gave me a number of ideas for "next to buy" volumes, as have your fantasy novels. Perhaps some day soon I will have the time to look through all the rest.

Well wishes,
Alana
