About meMy library tags so far probably describe my interests best. Years trying to enter USNA only to get into my 2nd choice. My allegiance to topics naval and military is my way of balancing out things not accomplished. 16 years living at the rural coast 60 miles away. Now in suburbia (with many more bookstores to browse). Love that any book can be found and acquired online, but realize that the web can not replace the thrill of the hunt in a good bookstore. A very satisfying day... roaming Powell's City of Books in downtown Portland (with no kids in tow or other priorities to do).

"Good judgment comes from experience... Experience comes from bad judgment"

"Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it."

"If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, it's just possible you haven't grasped the situation."

"To profit from good advice requires more wisdom that to give it."

Hey Thanks for sharing your thoughts about The Armchair General. You and I are the same age. I've visited West Point many times and find it a national treasure. Thank you for your service to our country.
Dear Pat:

I seldom check into Library Thing, so I only saw your email today. My connection to the Academy is a friend's son, a student there. Thanks.
FYI
I have uploaded a cover for Red Sun Setting: The Battle of the Philippine Sea by William T. Y'Blood. This is from the 1981 Naval Institute Press hardcover edition.
Thanks - I read the first book in the series many years ago, and then forgot the author's name, so I wasn't able to locate the others. I was at my local bookstore recently and they were all sold out of them.
