VHS/CD/LP CATALOGUE INDEX

Call numbers for CDs consist of the following set-up:

For 1,2,3,4,7

CD # indication category
First three letters of composer's name.First three letters of work's title (further designators, like the first three letters of the conductor, solo artist, etc. will be added if need be)
Year of publication

For example, CD 1 BAR.BLU 1998 would refer to the 1998 recording of Bela Bartok's BLUEBEARD'S CASTLE.

For various artists/composers on compilation albums, "VAR" will be used instead of a composer's name.

For everything else

CD # indication category
First three letters of performer's or ensemble's name.First three letters of album title
Year of publication

2 Opera compilations (selections from various operas)
3 Oratorio/Cantatas
4 Symphonic vocal works (scene lyriques, symphonies featuring vocalists, etc.)
