Thanks for your comment on ISBNs. I had never noticed the ISBN on the jacket before, and that is helpful. The thing that bothered me is that in the book there was number preceded by "10" and another preceded by "13" and I did not know which was the number for the book I held in my hand. The jacket has only one number and I can presume it is the one for the book I have. But if the jacket is not there, which of the two numbers in the book is the number for the one I have? Can we assume that the 13 number is for the US edition and is most likely the one I have?
Reading another post of yours, I wonder if you could tell me why there are in many books two ISBN numbers, and which one should be used?
My biggest problem is inputting batches of ISBNs, if only I had a wireless connection I'd be able to do it upstairs, I'll maybe try your suggestion of doing ISBNs on Notepad and copying them into the grab box - but it IS fun, slightly addictive and yes I'm still enthusiastic!
Hello! I have just found that so far we have three books in common - all cookery! This is good fun, I'm enjoying inputting my books and imposing order where chaos reigned - and re-discovering my inner librarian!
Nice to see someone with as great an interest in etymology as I have!
In fact, you're the first person to be the only other one with two of my books. We also have the Word Games Dictionary as well.
Hi, I see we're the only ones with The Guiness Book of Curious Words.
