He "flourished" from 1900-1970.

I met and heard him lecture when I was a very young boy.

I must say, today we would describe him as being "very intense"

The Wikipedia article on him doesn't include his two names represented by K. C.

Mark Mathew Braunstein has never minced words on sharing HIS point of view, into which his spin on vegan values is idiosyncratically nuanced.

Mark Mathew Braunstein is the Art Curator at Connecticut College and presently teaches Photoshop courses and workshops.

He is the author of the books Radical Vegetarianism: A Dialectic of Diet and Ethic, and The Sprout Garden. His articles about vegetarianism have been published in Vegetarian Times, Natural Health, Vegetarian Voice, Whole Life Times, Backpacker, and Animals’ Agenda. He also has published about art, including the cover story “Vegetarianism in Art” in Vegetarian Times.

Mark has been vegan since 1970 and has lived since 1987 in the Connecticut College Arboretum nature reserve.

Mark’s book Radical Vegetarianism, first published in 1981, has been fully revised and updated and newly published in 2010. It will be available for sale and signing.

A remarkably intelligent book. — Washington Post

Radical Vegetarianism is a feast of words.... If vegetarianism has its cult classic, this is it. —Animals Agenda

This is a rare, inimitable book, one to savor and turn to, time and again. It is thick with thought. The poetic and pregnant ponderables make this guide to higher consciousness unique in the history of vegetarian literature. —Vegetarian Times

I've known Mark for ages, it seems. He is a remarkably sensitive person, and his pariplegia that resulted from a hiking fall AFTER a North American Vegetarian Society summer conference (www.VegetarianSummerfest.org), at which he had been a speaker, was particularly grievesome for all of us (and I had attended a triplegic during my grad school years at Harvard). He struggled to teach himself to walk again as well as possible. His current advocacy leads me to believe that he is still very much in pain, though palliative medicine has progressed immensely since the days of his tragic fall the broken rope bridge across the deep ravine.
No Peter Singer books in your Library?!
