About meI live just outside of Bath, UK not far from the Mendip Hills. We are into the Self Sufficient thing, we keep a few chooks and grow lots of goodies. Recently I got married, my husband does not understand my book obsession, the last book he read was fungus the bogeyman (a great book none the less) he keeps nagging at me for having too many books and to get rid of a few, but they are my close friends and hate to do so.

About my libraryIt's a bit Fantasy & Science Fiction, I enjoy books with female protaganists and a great adventure. I love to read a great series, i get miffed when an author takes an age to get to the last book, so I do tend to save them on my tbr pile until they are all released. I have a huge amount of books on my tbr pile so at the moment trying to clear the shelf off before buying more books...

Wow Thanks! I think I've got them all up and added. That was really helpful. Just let me know if I missed something.

LOVE IT!!!!
LOVE your hair !!!
Thanks for the group invitations! Very helpful, as I'm still getting acquainted with the LT world.
Eternity
never was lost.
What we did not know
was how to translate it into days,
skies, landscapes,
into words for others,
authentic gestures.
But holding on to it for ourselves,
that was not difficult,
and there were moments
when it seemed clear to us
we ourselves were eternity.

Translation by Denise Levertov "

I completely understand. Well at least you aren't waiting alone... :)
Well then I guess HAPPY READING would be in order.
Thought I would drop you a line, I just finished Prey by Rachel Vincent. Absolutely loved it, although I am a little annoyed with Faythe at the moment. But I am sure that Rachel will resurrect my love for her in the next book. Let me know when you read it about what you think.
You keep up the exact same way I do. I was asking because I am trying to find if there are ways to keep up that I do not know about.
Where do you find all of your upcoming books. How do you stay up to date?
OMG i love the books in ur library. :)
He doesn't seem annoying in the book, just enthusiastic. And there are definitely good recipes.
I just picked up Beef by John Torode, and I wanted to recommend it to you because of our shared in interested in carnivorous cookbooks.
Thank you for clarifying. I am no longer lost. I hope that you get to it soon. Good Luck.
Thanks!
I have spent two weeks rereading your message, not there is anything wrong with it. Although, it is amazing our different countries speak compared to one another. My question for you is what does "Fit a Fire" mean?

I know this probably sounds like the stupidest question, but I have sat on it and tried to think about it and I got nothing. Please respond even if you think I'm stupid just so I know what this means it has been driving me crazy.
I just wanted to let you know that I recieved your book. I am so excited I have been buying books like crazy lately, and I am trying to start my spring cleaning a little early. I have half of my house done already.

Thank you so much for the book, you are awesome.

I didn't know that you were doing the 999 paranormal challenge, so am I hears to reading. Have a good week.
I know what you mean about reducing the size of your TBR pile, mine is getting way out of hand, that's why I joined in the Paranormal 999 challenge but I just can't seem to help myself I can never pass by a book store with out stopping and picking something up...lol!
Hey Thanks for excepting the friend invite! I'm looking forward to give giving your library a good look, since we seem to enjoy the same kinds of books.
Simon Green is pretty fab, yep. I picked up 'Blue Moon Rising' when it came out and I have rarely been so taken with a new author. His send-up of heroic fantasy really struck a chord with me.
I really love the River Cottage Meat Book - I tend to read it for pure entertainment more than to find recipes, although I've done that, too.

I hope you're able to find War for the Oaks soon, since it really is a lovely book. I noticed you have a few Simon Green books; how do you feel about him?
I love it when they let you pick your gifts yourself.
Hello did you get any new books for christmas?
You are also doing the 999 challenge. So am I. I have finished three of my books already. I have read the At grave's end, In the Blood by Adrian Phoenix, and Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead.

Hope you get to feeling better. I hope that your christmas and New years were enjoyable other than being ill. Have a great day!
Did you read the At grave's end, I bought it the first day of release. I was very impressed, what did you think?
That would be awesome. I would love to read it. Do you need me to send you an address, and would you like me to send it back to you when I am finished? Thank you so much that it very kind of you.
It is sounds like you do most of the same things that I do. I think I am addicted, I just can not seem to stop adding book to me to reads either. It is crazy I am never going to get all of them read.

I am reading Bite the Bullet by LA Banks right now, then I also have Living with the dead on my coffee table from the library. Oh, and I have the new book by Karen Chance Midnights Daughter to read. I am excited.

I am completely anxious for all the new books I have coming out over the next five months. I am going to read, read, read, read, read, and read. Ha
Get out of here. I just read that you have the third night huntress book already. I am so so so so so so so so so jealous right now. How did you get it already?

I also have a question seeing as you read just as much as I do, how do you keep track of when new books for your series are coming out. I find myself getting several books I want to read, then when I get a new book I just leave them and read the new one.

What are you reading now? I haven't talked to you in awhile, what is new?
Aha Sidebar to add does it make me a bad person that I'm relieved that someone else has a TBR pile as big if not bigger than mine? Also I must take you to task you cannot, indeed must not, go another week of your life without reading Patricia Briggs Steal the Dragon and When Demons Walk and that I think American Gods should be read as soon as possible for fear of your mortal soul - unless you write creatively in which case you should keep it for a day when you are feeling empowered and strong in the force, otherwise you sit gnashing your teeth back and forth wanting to delete everything you've ever written because nothing will ever measure up to the glory of American Gods... did I mention I am more or less Neil Gaiman's bitch? Ooh Neverwhere's really good too and more of a manageable size.

Right am going now and going to stop clogging up your comments field and being strange and offputting...

Ruadh
Oh how I ache with envy that you have a copy of the third Night Huntres book. (Sad Face) I thoroughly enjoyed Valiant and Ironside although I think I prefered Ironside more out of the two but that's probably because I felt there was more of a sense of character development. I do love Black's gritty style have you ever read any Melvin Burgess? If you enjoy Black's style you'd probably love a couple of his books although they have no supernatural elements to them (well maybe his retelling of the Norse sagas have a little actually). I'd recommend Junk and the aforementioned Norse Saga ones which I burn with shame to admit I can't actually remember the name of them but they were very, very good and quite blood thirsty.

Good to hear from you as always
Slainte!

Hello, and welcome to the Lovecraft Cafe, where I'll be introducing you to a character of literature that stands above the rest. A man of quality; a impeccable gentleman of unparalleled morals. The true standard excellence.

This man, is Simon Canderous. Here, you can observe him in one of his natural habitats - a coffee shop. The man with the strange white strip through his hair is his teacher, Connor Christos.

See the interaction between mentor and mentee; witness the awe inspiring ease he uses as he takes in his surroundings, the almost instinctual eye for detail he uses to track the happenings around him.

*CRASH*

The... uh, inner clutz that spills his coffee, erm, through the dead lady.

*Shrugs*

I never said he was *perfect*.

Well, if you've enjoyed this little shpiell, be sure to check out Simon Canderous in his very first novel, Dead to Me by the uber-talented Anton Strout. And on sale Feb. 24th, 2009 is Simon's next adventure, Deader Still.

Cheers!
(PS - I can attest to the fact that Dead to Me is quite good, and well worth the read!)
I just thought I would drop you a line, and tell you I bought the new Nightwalker book by Jocelynn Drake today. It is supposed to be the first in the Dark Days Series. I will let you know how it is when I finish. It sounds like something that would be right up our alley.

Have a great day.
You read the summoning, How was that? I am so eager to read it.
I will keep a watch out for her also, I believe many great things will come from her. The Anna strong chronicles is on my list of to reads. I have not added all of the books that I have listed to read, I have a novelist compliation of books that I have been working off of. I am just trying to get used to this librarything first. I had to hunt all over the place to get find out where my messages from people list at. Ha! I used to think that I was good at this computer thing.
I saw your recommendation for the Jeaiene Frost Night Huntress Book. I really like your review I was amazed by those books. They were awesome. Nice to meet you!
Thanks for adding me as an interesting library! Not sure if you know, but "Cry Wolf" by Patricia Briggs is available, at least in Canada. It's Charles and Anna's first book and I really enjoyed it. :D
It's always a pleasure to "meet" fellow book-a-holics! :) Especially one's with great taste in books. I hear you on the ridiculous amounts of TBR piles of books. I have about 600 here myself, lol.

I also have a book review blog where I put my reviews, and sometimes have author interviews and contests. It's called Sidhe Vicious Reviews at http://sidhevicious.wordpress.com/ So if you have time to kill, feel free to pop over and say hi there too. :)
Ooo! I saw that you added The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong - how did you like it? I absolutely adored it! I am in agony over having to wait until May of 2009 for the next one!!!

Hope the book restriction is going alright (don't have too many delivered to work!!!).

Cheers!
Hi how goes your book restriction? I am implementing something similar myself when I realised how large my TBR pile was. I just finished Fire Study and I can see what you mean about predictable; I was a bit disappointed that Varlek had such little development or stage time. I did enjoy Magic Study though, in a weird way it reminded me of the Alanna series by Tamora Pierce. Definitely would recommend a couple of new ones I discovered recently Nocturne City by Caitlin (Something?) and Night Child by Jess (something?)0 sorry I'm hopeless with names.

Now that I have added some more weight to your TBR pile I shall scamper away cackling into the stacks ;)
Ruadh
I snagged a copy of Dead To Me by Anton Strout, as well as Night Child by Jes Battis.

They look to be very interesting and different, and I am all for different. Plus, they are the first books in their respective series', so it's nice to be able to start a series when it comes out (I'm usually starting one when there's 10 or more books in it, which is also nice because it keeps me going for a while).

I've looked at the Michelle West (Sagara) books - I keep thinking about them, saying one day I will get those... May have to move that up closer to the top of the list!

I know what you mean about all the TBR's - I have a TON of 'em. But, I tend to read a book a week, so I like to know I have plenty of options when I finish one.

Weather here is horribly hot and humid, which makes me very sleepy, and not much in the mood for reading, which is maddening. Hope everything over there is going well!

Ricechex
How goes the book diet? Hope you're not going completely starkers. I was in Borders yesterday with me Mum and for some reason, I thought about you! Hope everything's going well!

Ricechex
Hi again,

I just powered myself through a back to back read of Rachel Vincent's Stray and Rogue, so it seemed appropriate to stop by and thank you for the recs - I'd had them a while but you finally gave me the impetus to read them! I absolutely loved Rogue and I can see why you're waiting eagerly for the next one. I enjoyed Stray too but as a cat owner I thought some of the worldbuilding was a bit off as well as the use of 'tabbies' as a nomer for the girls (surely it should be 'queens' my pedant self muttered) and I suspect if I hadn't read Bitten before it I might have enjoyed the first books plot more but anyhoo I do appreciate the recs because I adored Rogue and Marc has joined my fictional crush list.

I just had a wee nosey at your wanted section, and if I may return your kind favour, I'd strongly recommend that you DONT buy Devour by Melinda Morel or Ivy Cole and the Moon - personally I thought the two were some of the worst fiction I'd read in a long time, never mind paranormal genre stuff. Devour is absolutely awful though just no characterisation or even narrative style at all, everything is told rather than shown and there's no world building to speak of.

On a happier note ;) I'd wholeheartedly recommend Jeanne Frost's Halfway to the Grave (particularly if you were a Spike fan from Buffy, it was a fab light read, and Eileen Wilkes is great too.

Cheery for now,
Ruadh
I may go crazy if I'm not allowed to buyu books...

My dad keeps asking my mom to sell some of hers, but she refuses - I'm the say way. We're both avid readers/re-readers, so we like having the books. My dad isn't into the reading bit - he likes to read his gun magazines every month, but other than that he's not much for it.

Well, if you have any questions on a series I have read, feel free to ask - I don't mind spreading the wrod on books! Tootles!
I much agree with scriberscouse! I wanted to thank you for adding my library to your interesting section. I think I will be perusing your selection to see what I might want to purchase myself. have a wonderful day!
Hi there,

I meant to pop by sooner and thank you for adding me to your interesting libraries list. Looking at how similar our favourite author lists are I'm guessing that I will more than likely end up scouring your library for new authors to fritter my wages on at Amazon! Thanks again

Ruadh
Hi! I'm on the Dawn Cook Yahoo group and I saw your message :) It looks like we have a lot of books in common. One of my favorite authors is Kate Forsyth - the first book in her Eileanan series is Witches of Eileanan. I'd definitely recommend it!
