About meI've been an avid--voracious, even--reader all my life. An only child, I remember spending Saturdays in my room, lying in my bed next to a stack of books and challenging myself to see how many books I could read in a day. I've always been an eclectic reader, one of those types who finds a subject or time period and then reads everything she reads on the subject. When I was 8 I remember reading every book on fairy tales I could find in the school library and was fascinated with the French and the Irish and the German fairy tales. Then my interest turned to the world mythologies, then to world religions, and on and on. As a teen I spent a lot time reading biographies. Later I became trapped in the time period of King Henry the VIII's many wives.

I remain an avid reader, but now I'm also a writer who has co-authored three travel books (Exploring Houston with Children, Exploring the Arts and Culture in Houston with Children, and recently Exploring Texas History: Weekend Adventures, in addition to two teen novels, Divided Loyalties and Video Magic.

About my libraryI have a vast library and it will take me some time to get it all online, but I am working on it. I collect books on the craft and business of writing, but have an extensive and eclectic collection. I read as much nonfiction as I do fiction. I review books for Blogcritics.org. You can read my reviews at my blog, Down the Writer's Path, and at Blogcritics.org (http://blogcritics.org/author.php?author...)

Hi there. At the moment I don't have any tours lined up. I've been really busy behind the scenes, not just with the National Council on Bookstore Tourism but also the Keystone Book Festival, which will be Pennsylvania's first literary festival. There just aren't enough hours in the day!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

Feel free to email me here: lportzline@comcast.net.

Take care!

Larry
Thank you; I'm glad. From the titles of your books, you seem an ideal addition to our group. - Also, of course, I can think of a couple of people who need copies of them! :) (Which I may wait to purchase till Christmas-time, but am pleased to find someone took the time to write.) 'Exploring' a little was one of the best things in growing up here; and blessedly, then, so much was free.

Best wishes on your cataloguing,

Julie
Great to "meet" a fellow author. I will have to check out your writing books collection, along with your blog.
