About me I have various interests: One of the great joys of my life has been to study in London for several weeks when I was in grad. school at Colorado. I took a semester off to study in England and to "pop over" to the continent on weekends. What a marvelous life! Studying is my thing.

I have also had the great joy of spending more than fifteen years taking classes at the famous John Campbell Folk School in Brasstown NC. Some were week long classes when I was on break from teaching at my university here in south Georgia, others were weekend classes. My classes there included woodcarving, tinsmithing, alternative photography, constructing Shaker style boxes and many more.

About my library I prefer studying mythology to any other genre, particularly Joseph Campbell's "Hero with a Thousand Faces." His guides to mythic structure opened up a new world to me: They made it possible for me to present many popular-culture papers at academic conferences across the country. In that regard, *****CAREFUL--POSSIBLE SPOILER HERE*****I've been reading "Duma Key," and have been stunned and pleased to encounter King's splendid application of mythic elements in that novel.
