About meFirst of all, yes, I am wearing wombat ears in the picture in my profile! Just in case you were wondering.

Secondly, I'm a 21-year-old, male, English lit major from eastern Pennsylvania. I currently go to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in Western PA.

Let's see... as a student I currently support myself by taking orders for crocheted items and other crafty things. You can see my gallery here (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/vombatiformes) though soon I'll have another gallery on my own webspace (http://www.vombatiformes.com).

I also have my own booklog (http://www.vombatiformes.com/booklog) where I blog about the books I'm reading and other book-related things. I try to cross-post reviews if I can.

About my libraryMy catalog on LT consists of only the books I own. This is where my library on here and my listing of books on my personal booklog differ. I will blog about books that I do not own, but will not list the books here (this is subject to change, though). If you've noticed any inconsistencies in that regard - there's why.

I am a compulsive book-buyer. I'm not joking. I don't think I've ever walked into a book store and not bought a book. It's odd because I couldn't possibly read them as fast as I buy them, but once I see a book that I want I feel like I have to buy it for fear of not seeing it again, especially if it's not a popular seller. I know, I know. That's what the internet is for. But there's a weird block in my head with that.

You'll find a lot of gay & lesbian fiction and non-fiction, gender studies stuff, Australian literature (which has somewhat become my academic forte at this point in my life?), YA and juvenile literature, fantasy and horror and books about history (especially Australian, American and Scandinavian) and mythology, atheism and psychology, sociology and natural history (biology, evolution, dinosaurs!) in my library. I have too many interests and not enough time in my life to read up on all of them, so the result is a jumbled mess of a million things that may or may not be related!

I think I may want to teach some day - at a university level if I can dream - but I'm not sure whether I want to focus on Australian literature, mythology, American history, Australian history, Scandinavia or LGBT literature and studies. Phew. I have also recently been considering science writing, because it seems like a really excellent way to combine all of my interests into something worthwhile.

My library includes books owned by both me and my partner, who studies biology. He has special interests in ecology and entomology, so you'll likely find a lot of that here, too.

Hi Samuel

I wanted to stop in and say thank you for sending me Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I look forward to reading this. Also I went and took a look at your work on your website and I have to say it is amazing. I plan to take a closer look when I am off work :o)

Good luck with your studies and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Peace,
Deidre

Thanks for asking me to be your friend. I feel very honoured. You meet such nice people on LThing. I like your creatures...particularly Konner and the Ferret. You might like my friend's site www.grandpurlbaa.com - she makes wild tea cosies. Easton - huh? I know nothing about Easton....now I'll have to look it up. There's a pretty famous couple of fashion designers here in Brisbane called Easton Pearson by the by http://www.eastonpearson.com/home .....better stop playing here and get to work :)
