About meI LOVE BOOKS!!! It is an addiction!!
What a great site this is, a place to "store" my books. I have always wondered how many I have, maybe now I can find out.
The little scanner cat is a dream, I would never have tackled it without him. I am not a huge pet person, but I love this cat!!
My family thinks I am crazy, and dreads our local library's book sales. I get so excited, my stomach is in knots. Is that nuts or what!!
Oh well, this site has given me a chance to go through my books and weed out the ones that I don't need, (sure I will!). I am running out of space. My next house will have a library, for sure.
(Starting in January of 2008 I have begun to remove a lot of my religious books from my library, and am transferring to a library that I am starting at my church.( Therefore, I can continue to buy books!)

"I cannot live without books"-Thomas Jefferson

"The person who can read and doesn't, has no advantage over the person who can't read"-source unknown

"A book is like a garden carried in the pocket"
Chinese Proverb

You've won a review copy of Steve Magnante's 1001 Muscle Car Facts. Look for the book to arrive by mail in late May. We would appreciate you posting your review to Amazon as well as our website. Thanks!

I actually didn't realize you could browse to find other LibraryThingers in your area. Thanks to you, now I know that! Sounds like chances might be good that we COULD nudge each other looking for used books at the same places, although our tastes seem fairly different, so I guess no violence will be necessary. *wink* Those library sales are madness, aren't they??
Liked your book pile pic, way to go!
I am having library logging bursts where I can't sleep until I get "one more shelf" in. I am about half way through but I think I have the gardening and herb books pretty much covered.
40 books the same so far, I am still trying to get my library online, a lot of work but really fun. I am listing books I forgot I owned. You are obviously an "herbiphyle" which is a good thing, I think only those who are truly righteous are those with lots of books and plenty of herbs.
Thanks for the comment--my very first on LT! I'm really excited about getting my books organized, for the first time in my whole life. I won't be back in Indiana for at least another year. This year's tour takes me to the southwest. But if you watch my email newsletter (, you'll know where I'm going to be. For right now, I'm right HERE, happily cataloging books and having fun with LT!

AWESOME!!!!!! Now you have motivated me.

I've checked out your new blog, you are off to a good start!
It's not herbal, but a trip to the Avon Perennial Gardens on the west side of Indianapolis would be a good field trip. They have a web site... Their display gardens are quite amazing.
I have some shrubs buried under the snow at my house that I suspect will not be the same once the snow melts... Bird's Nest Spruce. By the way, did you go to Purdue for Landscape Architecture? I have a degree in Horticulture.
Thanks for the comment and for your interest in the Garden Blogger's Book Club. I am excited to hear from another Indiana gardener/reader. When (If) you get your blog set up, please let me know. My main blog is at and maybe you found the blog of my grandmother's diaries which relates somewhat to geneaology, Leave me a comment sometime!

I've cataloged my gardening books, but haven't started in on the rest of my library. I am actually thinking of getting rid of some books I know I won't read, but somehow can't bring myself to do it.

And I went to Purdue, so I definitely know where Lafayette is!
