About me54-year-old author of the memoir 'A Report from Winter,' the novel 'My Name Is Rand,' and stories and essays that have appeared in anthologies ('Best Gay Erotica,' etc.) and journals (from 'The Greensboro Review' to 'Harrington Gay Men's Literary Quarterly'). I live in Kansas City, Missouri with my partner of 20 years and two cats.
About my libraryMy library is scattered throughout the house. There is no particular order to it; no reason why the bookshelves in the bedroom hold what they do versus the ones in the dining room. Cataloging it will be a challenge, for it's a diverse range of books...mostly fiction, I would guess, but lots of nonfiction and poetry as well.

That rambles in the road alone,
And doesn't care about careers,
And exigencies never fears;
Whose coat of elemental brown
A passing universe put on;
And independent as the sun,
Associates or glows alone,
Fulfilling absolute decree
In casual simplicity."
— Emily Dickinson
