TagsNot strictly mine. I've just started on my husband's Terry Pratchett collection. This one's great fun so far! (1), Just bought this secondhand. So clear (1), accessible. It gives me confidence that I can improve my limited sewing skills. (1), Absolutely wonderful. Good grief! Terry Pratchett made me cry! (1), This is actualy by Sally Mackey and Simon Cooper (1), I absolutely love this book. Martin Kemp has done it his way: great text; wonderful illustrations; endlessly fascinating for the armchair art lover. (1), logical (1), excellently edited. (1), faultlessly researched: the most readable and comprehensive history of Spain (1), elegant (1) — see all tags

About meBooks have been essential to me since I was a very small girl, going up to the library with my mother for copies of Orlando the Marmalade Cat, Jeanne-Marie and Patapon, and Petunia.
As an adult, I've generally had more books than furniture. Before we moved from England to Dubai, thirteen years ago, we had to part with many much-loved books. It hurt.
Since the books in the public lending libraries here are all in Arabic (naturally), I have since replaced surrendered favourites, and we've added new ones. (As excuses go, I think that's quite a good one...)
I wanted to share these things that give me pleasure and contentment, and hook up with other readers.

About my libraryHere are my favourite books, some of which will we will have to part with when we leave here (Dubai) for a new life in Spain. (No pain no Spain?)
I enjoy fiction, histories, biographies and books on art, craft (especially textiles) and gardening, and we've got plenty of all of them. I am steeling myself for a cull, comforted by the fact that I'll at least have a catalogue for restocking!
Oh, and by rights, this should be 'Our Library', because I'm listing the books I enjoy, which includes some belonging to my husband. Well - What's mine is his; what's his is mine. No pre-nup!
