About meI always have 4-5 books going at once: 2 on the Kindle, one upstairs by the bed, and 1-2 downstairs in the den. I read 12-15 magazines every month, 1 horrible local newspaper every day, WSJ & NYT once a week, and the back of the cereal box if nothing else is available.

About my libraryKarmic event: We just covered every available wall in our house with bookshelves to accommodate the many piles that have accumulated over the years and the piles yet to come, and my husband gave me a Kindle for my birthday!

My library has about 10 items of fiction for every 1 non-fiction (but not counting cookbooks). My tastes run to Southern authors, thrillers, edgy mysteries, pop literature that isn't too whiny, and anything that's a reasonably well-written, damn good story.

The books listed here are not the only ones I own - just many of the ones I like; therefore, the ratings are all 3-stars and above. I've also not included all the books of every author, just a representative sample. Someday, if I can quit reading long enough, I'll get everything on here!

Noticed you liked The Glass Castle, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a dysfunctional family and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to learn a little more about the book before you commit:
