About meNerd and corporate librarian.

About my libraryI thought I had more books than this. There are more in a trunk somewhere, but also I had to cull and sell a bunch because I am poor and have no room. One day I will have a big huge library with lots of shelves and comfy chairs and maybe a ladder. Also a globe with a bar inside.

I like the globe-with-bar idea.
Thanks for deleting that duplicate. I thought I knew every bookstore within 500 miles, but this exercise has proved to me just how many I had missed. The biggest surprise was that Great Northwest Bookstore, which I used to frequent when they were a few blocks from Powell's, is still in business. When I couldn't find them, I just assumed they had gone belly up. They sell a lot online now, so they didn't even bother to list their new place in the local yellow pages.
Hey - I see you have been busy today. Thanks for entering Wordstock in LibraryThing Local - I had intended to go hunting for it, but you beat me to it. I have been adding some of the small and...um...unique bookstores. They should get some attention too.

I added all of the March calendar events from Powell's, and I think they take up too much space, so I may go back and pare them down. I didn't see a way to link the individual events from the Powell's website, but it shouldn't be too much trouble for users to just scan the events calendar for details.
Well, I'm glad you've joined us. Post away!
