About meWork for a charity, live with my partner, yearn for a library in our flat.

"...and on a cold night he would sit in the big chair in front of the fire, reading by the lamp that stood on the heavy plank table and look up while he was reading to hear the north-wester blowing outside and the crashing of the surf and watch the great, bleached pieces of driftwood burning."
-Hemingway

"I got the blues thinking of the future, so I left off and made some marmalade. It's amazing how it cheers one up to shred oranges and scrub the floor."
-D.H. Lawrence

About my libraryAll are books that I own and are mostly books that I have read but mixed in with a few books that are on the list to read.

Thank you for your message. I've just paid up so I'm eager to continue cataloging!
Hello! Thank you for your message. I have just signed in to libarything for the first time since last year so have only just got your message! Life ran away with me! Will try and finish getting all my books on!
Greetings and thank you for adding me to your group. I love to read but having little time, I augment my reading with audio books, which I listen to on the way to & from work. I am currently reading Middlesex and listening to Don't Get Too Comfortable. Middlesex is quite good and while the other is amusing, and he brings out several well-made points, I can only listen to it for half an hour at a time.

Well it’s a beautiful day here in NYC sunny and crisp but I should be working so off I go. Astrid
Hi James,

You're more than welcome. Currently struggling with Ben Okri's, 'A Famished Road', although I am enjoying it very much. It's one of those novels which forces a slower pace in order to fully appreciate the imagery and make sure that you're following the plot. I suspect it may take me all week!! Yourself?

Hi James, Thanks for the lowdown on Michael Tolliver Lives. Can't wait to read it. Right now I'm in the middle of Andrea Barrett's Voyage of the Narwhal, which is very good although it's not typically something I'd delve into. What are you reading now? Laura
Thanks for adding me to your Interesting Libraries. Have you read Michael Tolliver Lives yet? What did you think of it? I'm 11th in the queue at the local library for the book, and can't wait to hear what happened to some of the Tales of the City gang.

All the best,

Laura
Hello fellow owner of The Arizona Game! I'm reading the Fannie Flagg at the moment, a bit sweet & Oprah-ish for me but a pleasant read for my sleep-deprived brain. I see Geoff Dyer is one of your favourite authors. I had the pleasure of meeting him several times through work - a very nice, interesting & , dare I say it, sexy guy.
I just joined up to librarything a few days ago, about one half way through now & horrified by the amount of "to be reads I have.
Greetings from a very very rainy Dublin.
