About meLove to curl up with a good book, a cup of chai tea, and my chihuahua Nacho on my lap. Northern transplant. Miss the amazing libraries I grew up in - my mother is a reference librarian. MUST find town with impressive library in which to start a family - more important than anything else!

About my libraryI'm always adding new books, from Amazon.com or Goodwill or even the break room at work. My least favorite thing is to pay full price for a book. I love bargains, and I am never too proud to take handouts (note my membership in Early Reviewers and Member Giveaways). I try to read above the elementary school level that so many modern writers have become famous for, grabbing classics and enthusiastically obtaining novels assigned in my college literature classes. I make a habit of visiting the Unsuggester to find books outside of my comfort zone, as I feel that I must constantly expand my horizons if I ever plan on writing that novel I've dreamed of publishing since 2nd grade. :) I own three bookshelves that are assuredly over capacity and struggle to keep my shelves organized, though the constant influx of additions makes it difficult.

Hey,

Thanks for the kind words. I found Annuna to be a total waste of my time (as I'm finding a lot of these "self-published" e-books cough24bonescough). I felt like I was proofreading a novel written by an angsty pre-teen boy. It's funny, though, as 19 days after I wrote my review, the author wrote a review for some other book. It started:

'Let me just say - it's rare I leave reviews. I only do it for books I truly do love. As an author, I understand the destructive nature a bad review can give a book, so I subscribe to the old adage, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."'

And then I wonder if that was directed at me. Warning: rant about to start.

Since when do authors want people to tell them that their lousy, sub-par work is GOOD? I'd rather hear about all the flaws of my work, so I could fix it for the next edition, or at least improve as an author. I think any author who thinks you should go by that old adage of "not saying anything at all," should really either not be such a baby, or stop sending me their poorly written books.

Okay. Breathe now.

Anyway, send it if you like (just don't e-mail it to me). Also, thanks for the interesting libraries add.
Hello,

LibraryThing contacted me and indicated you were one of the winners of the Member Giveaway (for my blog novel, EyeLeash). Please send me your e-mail address (mine is missfey@gmail.com), and I'll send you a copy of the e-book.

Thanks for entering the giveaway!

Dude, that's cool I had no idea we had an allotment of books we could categorize. And I haven't read mine either...EPP!
Sorry about that! I'll send it immediately. Not sure why you didn't get it the first time.
Hello! Thank you for the comments. Isn't it interesting to look through the libraries of others? I love my library, but wish it was a bit more complete. I have not had time to spend on Library Thing lately, so my library isn't up-to-date either. Now, about Twilight...I try to read what my kids are reading, and I try to log everything I read. I liked Twilight well enough, probably because my step daughter and I had lengthy discussions about the story, and the quality of the writing, or lack thereof. It was probably that connection that I liked, more than the book. Take care, Molly
Have posted your 'giveaway book' today. On receipt, please confirm.
Thanks
I admit (sometimes under duress) that I read all four of the Stephenie Meyer Twilight books, and, yeah, it wasn't one of my proudest moments. I was at the beach and wanted something fast-paced and fluffy. Also, I worked at a public library at the time and kind of wanted to see what these long wait lists were about. (That'll teach me to follow the crowd!)

Still, I made it through all four because I mostly ignored the main character and her love story and focused on the inter-vampire politics. There is this underlying theme about whether to be true to who you are, no matter how horrible that is, or to fight it and reach toward some ideal of goodness--and although it is clear which Stephanie Meyer thinks is the right choice, the conflict between the vampires on that point, as well as the posturing between the different clans, was still interesting enough to keep me reading. I read Anne Rice, who covered it better, in middle and high school, and I guess that had something to do with my interest.

Anyway, thanks for looking at my library. I'll check out the Unsuggester. :)
where does your mother work? this librarian needs a job. :>
Dude, a bunch of religious books are in my Unsuggester too. Why do they assume that because we like sci/fi and fantasy fiction that we hate God?? Who runs this site? The Church of Latter Day Saints?
Isn't "Fearless" by Pascal about a chick who literally can't feel fear? She also wrote the "Sweet Valley High" series which is prolly why I didn't read these books...
You need to become a zany high school english teacher and I'll be your more down to earth History teacher friend.
Oh yeah, I was totally clicking on those when you were reading and replying to my message. I really wished I would have got "The Geek Girl Guide to Cheerleading." It looked reading interesting...oh well.

I think it's about a crazy literary town that loves rambling almost as much as you do. But while yours are cute and fun, they'res are mind-boggling. "Green-stripey dot-matrix printouts", wtf? It might be a pretty interesting read though...biatch. I'm so pissed they aren't sending me a book. Love the pic, btw ^_~
Yeah I totally signed up for everything, but am not getting one. I think this Member Giveaway is totally biased.....*mutters darkly*
Hi...
Regarding the Member Giveaway program:
I’m sending you a quick note regarding hoi polloi II. The book was sent this morning via book rate through USPS. I apologize for the delay. Thank you for your interest and I hope you enjoy this review copy.
Best regards,
Bob McNulty
So I requested almost everything I could. The new Chuck Palachuik book is only available in Canada. Jack would have friggin LOVED reading it before other people.
:( I think I rad the review on that...and totally didn't click on it. Sorry, dude, but at least you got something.
The Unsuggester may be right. I've always kinda gotten that evil vibe off of you. Are you sure you don't worship our wily father, our Morningstar?
Dear God,
Please destroy all the Crocs and Croc wearers.

Thanks,
Megan
Not at all! Maybe we should start a Whippersnapper Book Club. Is it me or are most of the Oprah book club, literary clubs aimed at older women? I kind of get sick of most of the depressed shit they read.

And Y: The Last Man is awesome! I've only read the first graphic novel, but it's interesting and funny. Have you read Runaways by BKV yet?
Lol! Yeah I totally know how you feel. I have a bunch, and Jack wants me to read a lot of his before he goes...I'll see if I can make it! Oh, AND the new Sookie Stackhouse book comes out in May! Super excited about that!!
Trying to cut back on bills and see if I can get some discounts. Yeah, I'm cheap ^_^
