Hey Ray:

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I've not been on this site in a while. My wife and I had a baby girl about a week ago and we are thrilled, exhausted--everything that goes with a new child in the house.

I hope you had a grand time in Tokyo!

All best,
Jeff
Hey Ray:

Yes, the Loujon movie premier at the Prytania was a blast. Lou Webb was there along with a bunch of the folks who were involved in making the movie. There were something like 200-300 people in the audience and everyone seemed to have a grand old time.

How are things on your end?

All best,
Jeff
Yes, I wish there were more photos available, but we worked with what we had. The clippings I reference were all photocopies and not very good for reproduction. I'm very glad you're enjoying the text, though!

All best,
Jeff
Hey Ray:

Just stopping in to say hello. Hope the book is holding up for you.

All best,
Jeff
That's pretty much the way I felt when I found out she was still alive. This was maybe six or seven years ago. I found an interview with her online and called the reporter who wrote the piece. She gave me Lou's telephone number and I called her up. That's how I began my research. :-)

I think I mentioned the documentary that's being shot about her and Loujon. Louise is fantastic in it.

I hope you enjoy the book!

All best,
Jeff
Hi Ray:

I envy the fact that you were able to live in New Orleans for a while. I've visited there a number of times but never had the chance to settle in. Lou is a wonderful woman and a fascinating character. She's past 90 and getting frail, but still vibrant and full of life. She's truly one of the most remarkable people I've ever met. The best thing for me about the whole book thing isn't the book itself. It's the fact that I got to know Louise Webb.

I truly appreciate your ordering my book and do hope you enjoy it. You might also be interested in knowing that a documentary film maker named Wayne Ewing is putting the finishing touches on a film about Lou and Loujon. I'm involved in that project, too, but mostly on the sidelines. I provided Wayne the contacts and their context and he made the movie. I think it's going to be a very fine film.

Take good care of yourself and keep in touch.

All best,
Jeff
