Let me be the first (I hope) to say, Welcome to LibraryThing! You'll love it here!
So then, the what fee? Are you asking what happens if you don't pay to use the site? Nothing really. You can enter up to 200 books for free and still use all of the other features of the site. If you want to add more than 200 books, well, you'll have to cough over a few of your hard earned bucks ... But it's only $10/year or $25/for life, so you'll still be able to buy Hello Kitty items. Not to worry.
I presume you've looked around the site a little? Check out the "Talk" feature up there at the top. You may want to join a couple of groups (I'll send you invites to them). One is a group I started. If you have a, um, let's say, less than typical Colorado Springs view of religion (which you seem to), you might enjoy it. It's called "Happy Heathens". Beyond that, my good friend clamairy ( http://www.librarything.com/profile/clam... )co-founded "The Green Dragon", where some of the coolest people on this site can be found. Officially speaking it's a group for fantasy readers, but we basically chat about anything and everything.
Welcome once more.
