About meThe choice of my user name zerkalo (the mirror) is related to the mesmerizing film by Andreï Tarkovsky (Mosfilm, 1974).

I'm a bibliophile with strong affections to classical music and the fine arts, as well as a film enthousiast with particular interests in selected author cinema and Zeitgeist-documentaries.

This virtual library includes all books which I have read and those I possess and should read. For quite a while, I reflect more thoroughly on new acquisitions, trying to avoid disappointments, never finished or unopened.

Bela Bartok once said that competitions are more relevant for horses than for musicians. So accordingly, please consider my ratings as something which tries to reflect my personal appreciation after having finished a work, rather than a ponderous judgement that should apply for every reader.
